This is a Compaq d315 Athlon 2600+ system. A Matrox g450 AGP card has been added, it has 1GB of RAM and an 80GB IDE drive.
F10 - setup
Boot menu doesn't seem to exist. Have CD set as first boot device.
This node is like hx6 and hx7, but it's mainboard has been replaced with one from ECS. It has mirrored drives. The onboard Ethernet (Realtek RTL8139) works OK in SL47, I think it was necessary to enable BIOS (PXE booting) on the NIC to get it working in SL installer.

Video is also onboard ATI.
01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 [Radeon Xpress 200G Series]

VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "DELL E228WFP"
DisplaySize 470 300
HorizSync 30.0 - 83.0
VertRefresh 56.0 - 75.0
Didn't get it going using normal Radeon driver, though it should work...
Have now put SL53 on it. Video comes up as 1680x1050, but image is about 70% of full width. Run xvidtune and get a modeline. Still needs some tweeking.
Installed ati driver from amd.com
[root@hx8 ~]# sh ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run
With this, X11 starts, but don't see anything on monitor. Want to try different monitor.
Tried plain VESA driver, seems to go fine, but doesn't know about 1680x1050. http://www.x.org/wiki/FAQVideoModes
Can't add modelines when using vesa driver. Try with a 4:3 panel. With a Dell 22" or ultrasharp 19", kinda useless as monitors can't resize right. Even the ultrasharp 19" doesn't have resizing and doesn't show all of 1280x1024 screen.
Maybe vesa driver and LCD panel isn't a good combo?
This is the node formerly known as "sasha" has tag PA-1328.
This is an ASUS A8V
Deluxe rev2 mainboard with Athlon X2 and 2GB RAM with 1 harddisk.
Same mainboard as in hx4, with Yukon onboard GigE
. On this one, not working for SL53 net install though. The two systems have the same BIOS installed
Video is ATI Radeon 9550.

Had lots of trouble with this node in SL53. Might be an SL53 thing, after the modules are probed in stage2 NIC stops working. Didn't have this problem in SL47.
Seems the NIC may be broken? Lights on port don't light at all. Have LAN ROM enabled in BIOS.
after resetting RTC, and enabling LAN ROM, Yukon PXE appears in boot device list and also works with SL53 net installer
Working in SL53 using builtin NIC.
This is Dr. Linnemann's "old" Dimension E521. Tag PA-1115

Network install for SL47 goes fine (though I did have a note to try "noapic", that wasn't needed).
Has an ATI video card. Try proprietary ATi driver. Froze host when X started
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV516 [Radeon X1300/X1550 Series]
03:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV516 [Radeon X1300 Pro] (Secondary)
Put SL53 on it. Installs fine and video works fine using r500 module.
Has tag: PA-1216
This is an Asus mainboard with Athlon X2. It has an IDE system drive and a 4 SATA drive RAID5 array.
Has a Radeon 9550 AGP card. Has nvidia and promise sata controllers.
Yukon Onboard NIC (skge driver), which is working for net install in SL53.

Sometimes the BIOS is flaky on this machine. I've had to reset the RTC b/c it wasn't booting up and also it sometimes doesn't want to boot from CD-ROM (tried two different drives, works intermittently).
For doing installs on this one, I disconnect the SATA drive cables --- to make sure the data doesn't get wiped. Add the mount in by hand after install.
Has samsung 22" LCD panel. Comes up with 1680x1050 video, but image is about 70% of normal width. Need to run xvidtune and put modeline in X11 config.
Dell Inspiron 531 with nForce 430.
nv driver not using 1680x1050. Install proprietary nvidia package. That goes fine.
HX13 to HX17
BIOS, disable serial and parallel ports, enable SMART reporting at bootup, only HD in boot order (press F12 to get CD). Prefer this for workstations that might have random CDs in the drive...
First install from SL54 DVD (manually).
Installer and monitor incompatible for graphical install, use text mode.
