Current Installs

Current installs are done using Scientific Linux 5.5 using either x86_64 (64 bit) or i386 (32 bit) OS depending on the hardware. To see the version on a given system, you can run the commands "uname -a" and "cat /etc/redhat-release".

Compilers

The usual GNU C, C++, and FORTRAN compilers are installed.

# gcc --version

# gfortran --version

Note that f95 is a symlink to gfortan:

# ls -l `which f95`
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Feb 18 05:54 /usr/bin/f95 -> gfortran

Where is "f77"? GNU has deprecated f77, gfortran should work for most codes. See http://gcc.gnu.org/fortran/ Contact Tom if this is an issue.

GCC 4.4 The newer 4.4 version is available as well:

[root@ht23 ~]# gcc44 --version
gcc44 (GCC) 4.4.0 20090514 (Red Hat 4.4.0-6)
