Fellowships

This page contains information on a variety of fellowships that are available to graduate students and post docs. They are loosely grouped by funding source and contain the necessary links for each fellowship along with general information such as deadlines and necessary documents. The information on this page will try to stay current, but always check the fellowship's information page to get the most up to date information available.


NSF

Fellowships offered by the National Science Foundation.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSFGRFP)

The big one from NSF, the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program is a fellowship available to all first and second year graduate students. Once you have completed your second year of graduate school, you are no longer eligible to apply for the fellowship.

DOE

Fellowships offered by the US Department of Energy.

Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program

This fellowship is for providing research opportunities for graduate students at a DOE funded laboratory. The research is intended to be a part of the student's thesis research, and as such you must have finished and passed all of your subject exams before you are eligible to apply.

FNAL

FNAL Universities Research Association Visiting Scholars Progam

JSPS

Fellowships offered by the Japan Society for Promotion of Science.

JSPS Summer Program

The JSPS Summer program is intended for all graduate students and recent doctoral graduates and consists of a summer stay in Japan at a "host research institution". The application for the program is done through NSF under the East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Graduate Students (EAPSI) program, where Japan is one of the options for research.
